The restaurant is set in a separate room from the bar, far from the madding crowd, as it were, and is smoke free. Light jazz and contemporary music drifts through the sound system, the fire place, again surrounded by steel-worx icons, radiates out gentle heat, setting the scene for what has quickly become one of Methven’s most popular fine dining restaurants.

Chef Tony prides himself on the quality of the food. The menu he has designed is the perfect combination of fresh local produce and international influence.

Starters and Entrée

  • Spicy Risotto - Creamy risotto spiced with Chorizo sausage, mushroom, bell peppers and spinach garnished with crispy kumera chips.

  • Lamb Salad -Warm lamb fillet tossed with roasted pinenuts, artichoke hearts and feta cheese.

  • Stuffed Tomatoes - Jucy ripened tomatoes stuffed with spinach, mushrooms, olives and Kikorangi blue cheese.

  • Pasta of the Day - ask your waiter for today's selection

Mains

  • Crusted Lamb Rack - Rosemary crusted rack and succulent fillet served atop portobello mushrooms, sweet onion jam, kumara chips and a port wine jus.

  • Steel-Worxs Ribeye - Export quality steak cooked to your liking staked on horseradish whipped potato topped with Kikorangi blue cheese and shallot jus.

  • Succulent Stuffed Chicken - Breast stuffed with sage, mushtooms, and cream cheese served on a bacon and crushed potato cake and drizzled with demi glaze.

  • Venison Pie - House baked venison pie served with mashed potato and roasted winter vegetables.

  • Oven Roasted Pork Bellies - Baked until tender. Served with baby potatoes, roasted vegetables and and apples drizzled with demi glaze.

  • Mushroom and Feta Fritata - Baked to order and served with crisp salad greens.

  • Fish of the day - You waiter will let you know todays dish.

  • CheesecakeApple Tart - Freshly made with either whipped cream or boysenberry ice cream.
